If a mail looks suspicious, don't risk your personal information by opening or responding to the message.
- Contact our Support Team and forward the letter in question to our support email address.
- Never enter any of your personal information if you have any doubts about the mail.
- Never click on any links/buttons in a mail if you are not sure that the letter is from us.
We encourage you to be cautious and protect your privacy against any phishing attacks.
Phishing attack is an online identity theft that uses email and fraudulent websites that are designed to steal your personal data or information such as credit card numbers, passwords, account data or other information. It is possible that one may try to mislead you with the names or content that is similar to ours.
For example, you receive a mail with an excellent special offer for the credits package or discount. When you click on the link in this mail, you are redirected to the website that looks similar to ours. Below you may find our tips on how to recognize a phishing mail and how to tell a difference between our mails and phishing ones.
In the interests of your security, pay attention to some of our recommendations:
- Approach links/images/attachments in mail messages with caution
With an attachment, you might download not only a non-suspicious-looking file, but also a virus or a spyware. It can be even downloaded without your intent, only by opening and watching an image or a file. So please, don’t open anything if you’re not sure about the sender.
- Don't trust offers that seem too good to be true
Most likely, the malefactors will try to catch your attention by proposing beneficial deals. The best way will be to ask our Support team about the current offers.
- Always report a suspicious mail
To do that, please, contact our Support team.
- Don't enter personal or financial information into pop-up windows
Not always, you might be redirected to a different site. Sometimes, to make the pop-up window look more convincing, it might be displayed over a window you trust. Even if the pop-up window looks official or claims to be secure, avoid entering sensitive information because there is no way to check the security certificate. Close pop-up windows by clicking the red X in the top right corner, as the “Cancel” button may not work as you'd expect it would.
In order to detect that the mail wasn’t sent from us, please:
- Check both the name of the sender and the email address.
- Domain names might be misspelled.
E.g., the letter from email address support@yahio.com is clearly wasn’t sent from Yahoo’s support team.
- The message creates a sense of urgency and might be poorly written.
“Limited offer”, “ending in 24 hours”, “hurry up and join” most probably means that the offer is fake. If there are any special offers, you’ll be informed about it beforehand and the information will also be on the Website. Please feel free to ask our Support team on any current offers.
- It contains some suspicious links or attachments to a mail.
